Northwest Knox Business and Professional Association

Welcome to the website of the Northwest Knox Business and Professional Association (NWKBPA)!  The mission of the Association is to promote the common interest of businesses in Northwest Knox County, Tennessee, by strengthening business and community relationships and supporting activities that promote this area as a desirable place to live, work, and shop.

On March 30, 2019, the Karns Community Fair Board in association with members of the Beaver Creek Kayak Club organized a very successful community work day at both the Karns Community Club Building and the Youth Center.  A special thank you goes out to the following local businesses:

Perez Services for donating labor and materials for some much-needed landscaping
Brogdon Plumbing for labor and wonderful new plumbing fixtures
Kirby Plants for donating the new plants out in front of the Community Club building
Plumb Creek Nursery for donating mulch on short notice when the call went out that day for it
Beaver’s Dough-Joe for providing breakfast with their popular and delicious donuts
Pizza Hoss for providing lunch to keep the volunteers fueled up

Several community organizations generously provided volunteers and supplies including:

    Beaver Creek Kayak Club
    Karns Community Fair
    Karns Community Club
    Karns High School AFJROTC

Thank you to all the individuals who came out, including our District 89 State Representative, Justin Lafferty, as well as: Charlie, Gina, Logan, Charles Sr., and Terri Austin, Cassie and John Kiestler, Michael and Tina Shelton, John Tapp, Col. and Mrs. Chuck O’Donnell, Isaiah Collins, Brent and Kellie Howell, Jordan Harless, Ron Perez, Mike Brogdon, Don Reagan, Rick Higginbotham, Bob Fox, Carolyn Greenwood, Donna Ellstrom, and Alisa and Ron Pruett (and any others who have been inadvertently omitted).  Great work!

    What is the NWKBPA?

The NWKBPA is active in organizing and promoting events that showcase local businesses and benefit the entire community, including the annual Karns Community Fair and Parade, local community and beautification projects, networking events, the Businessperson of the Year Award, and the Karns Christmas Parade.  Building on the work done previously by the Karns Business Association, the NWKBPA has branched out to now include support for business, school,  and community improvements in not only Karns, but also Ball Camp, Cedar Bluff, Solway, and Hardin Valley.

    Benefits

As a NWKBPA member, you have many opportunities to interact with your target audience, build strong relationships with others, and expand your own knowledge and skill set.  By building connections with other members and the community at-large, you can increase sales, create strategic alliances and broaden your sphere of influence.

    Meetings

The NWKBPA monthly meetings are held every third Thursday of each month.  Check this website or the outdoor sign near the Karns Library to find out where the next meeting will be held.  Meetings typically start at noon, though they sometimes begin at 6 p.m. to accommodate people who cannot attend a lunch meeting. Meetings tend to last an hour. Time is available before and after the meetings to network, build relationships, and share ideas.
